Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is transmitted to the third-party company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or other direct message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- Device type and operating system
- Browser type and version
- The referring site, when one is available
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. You may block cookies through browser controls, although doing so can change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Operating the site and maintaining page speed
- Routing a search query to the selected partner
- Measuring which pages are useful or need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect inferred interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Pike County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a personal criminal-record database. It publishes general directions to Pike police agencies, courts, the Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository, county custody channels, and the Pennsylvania Megan's Law Public Website. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that partner's privacy policy. We do not control its retention, processing, or disclosure rules, so review those terms before running a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Pike County offices, Pennsylvania agencies, court portals, legal resources, or third-party services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites for targeted advertising. That processing occurs on their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks serving material on our pages
- Search partners processing a query you submit
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security measures for information in our control. No internet service can guarantee perfect protection, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary by residence and applicable law. Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law governs requests to public agencies, not private website data, while 18 Pa.C.S. § 9121 governs dissemination of criminal-history information by the Pennsylvania State Police. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask for access to personal data we hold about you
- Object to certain forms of processing
- Request deletion of your data
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. An updated version will appear here with a new effective date, so review this page periodically for changes.
